Hi! I'm Lisa. I live in SUNNY SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA with my wonderful husband and two teenage children. With two kids in high school and involved in activities both inside and outside of school, I have a lot to juggle. When home, I lock myself inside the office to write. I've always loved to write, but life always seemed to be too busy. When inspiration finally hit, I made the most of the time hubby and kids were busy and published my first book in February 2014. I've published a total of 4 books in the past year and am hoping to bring you a few more before 2015 ends.

Clearly I'm Bad at Keeping Up With This

I know, I know.  I said I'd try to keep up this blog.  I failed.  But I have been living in the moments with m family and friends, something I think is much more important.  My kids are growing quickly and I know I'll be sorry if I don't take the moments to enjoy them.

I've also done very little writing this spring.  I'm wrapping up my novella for The Happy Endings Series called A Soldier's Dawning which will feature hottie Justin Keeton on the cover.  The cover reveal will be late August and the book releases Sept. 28th.  I love this book so much that this novella might just end up being a prequel to a full length novel.  Haven't completely decided what to do with it, but I feel like there'll be more.  This book has been the hardest for me to write to date since it comes from the male POV and he's a soldier with a lot of heartache.  It's been a challenge to capture the masculinity while also keeping the emotion high.  I hope you all enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed writing it.

Another project I've been working on is my teen book/series.  I've been playing with how to finish Amber's story and considered re-doing book 1 to include a more concise conclusion so the series can be a variety of teen stories from different character's POV's.  We'll see.  And I'll keep you posted.

Of course, I want to finish the Lexi Series with the last book, but a few other characters for new stories have taken hold of my brain and I'm working on a few of those.

Now you see why I feel like nothing is getting done.  Lots of things in lots of different directions.  I plan to take the next few weeks to make a better plan for getting things done.  The school year starts soon for us and I find that I can work better with a busier, more concise schedule.

I will work on a post about the last few book signings I attended and what is in store for the next few months.  I will say, I've enjoyed my travels and meeting all kinds of new people.

On a side note: If you'd like a signed book, I have a few things left from my last signing that I need to get rid of before I re-order for my next signing.  I have them listed in a post on my Author Page on Facebook.

Thanks for understanding and reading!! <3 br="">

Where does the time go?

Hi everyone.  I know I've lagged on posting here, but I'm trying, I promise. So here's a recap of what's been going on.

January -

Loving Lexi finally released.  Then there was an issue with three pages being repeated in the book.  I have NO IDEA how it happened, but I'm so thankful it was caught.  Those who bought the ebook can reload it and get the correct version.  If you purchased a paperback, I'm working on trying to figure out how to print the pages that were left out and send them to you.  Stay tuned on my author page on Facebook (www.facebook.com/authorlisasurvillas) for information.  Now all the files are fixed and I think I'll be running a special on the paperback I have that are flawed.

After that fiasco, I had the pleasure of flying to Phoenix for the Indie Mashup Author Event.  It was a wonderful trip.  Met lots of fabulous people, both in the industry and readers alike.  Events are always so much fun and if you haven't been to one, you need to hit one soon!! You won't be sorry!!

Authors & Models

The Gang (Justin Keeton, TH Snyder, Me, Hadley Quinn, Lance Jones)

TEAM TROUBLE (Stace Lee, Me, TH Snyder, Hadley Quinn)

Where the rest of the month went, I have no idea!! I'm gonna blame the kids and all their activities.

February -

Well, February brought us Fifty Shades the movie and the Author Event.  I was lucky enough to score some advanced screening tickets to the movie.  So a girlfriend and I went to Hollywood for the day!! It was a blast!

After seeing it with my friend, the weekend of Fifty began.  A midweek flight to Sacramento for a Friday night signing and an after party that was a movie!!

We stayed down the street from the capital building. It was pretty cool!  It was awesome to meet up at the airport with friend and author TJ West.  Our flights arrived within minutes of each other so we had a little time to kill together.  Since neither of us had eaten lunch, we took a lil walk and ate at Joe's Crab Shack right on the river.

We had dinner with a bunch of authors later that evening to celebrate Kimberly Knight's and Carlie Sexton's birthdays.  The company was fabulous...the food, not so much!

Tiffany and I enjoyed our shuttle driver/bellhop/vallet guy.  He was there everyday putting up with our weirdness.  Meet Justin.

Friday, the day of the event, blogger Melissa Toppen and fellow author and life long roomie, Audrey Harte, and I decided we needed to find a BevMo so we could make our own drinks.  After a LOOONNNNGGG walk, we made it!!

We don't need much!

Then we had to walk back!!  It was way too far to carry all that alcohol back. But don't fear...we made it, with just enough time to get ready for the event!!

The signing itself was so much fun!! I was so happy to have Dawn, who I met at the Temecula event over the summer, as my assistant.  It was amazing to meet a bunch of new authors, bloggers, and readers.

These fabulous ladies were very entertaining and labeled us #THEBITCHEXPRESS! Love it!

And an event can't be complete without fabulous shoes!!

Then it was time for the ...

And this was our little group going in.  (Please excuse the blurry!)

After the movie, Audrey Harte's cover model, Tyler White, took me to experience a strip club for the first time.  I have a work in progress (slowly in progress that is) that has a stripper in it.  Hard to write about her if I've never seen what her job is like.  I appreciate him taking me and keeping me safe.  It was  quite an experience.  All the other authors are WAY TOO OLD...they all went to bed.  LOL

Since the signing and movie were a on a Friday night, we took the day Saturday to have a little fun in Sacramento.  We did a lil wine tasting at Revolution Wines.

Then Saturday night, I dragged TJ West and Phalla Rios out to do some dancing at The Mix Downtown.

I wrapped up my weekend with Dawn taking me to a gorgeous little area for some amazing wine tasting.

I had a wonderful weekend, but it wasn't over.  When I got home from this trip, I was welcomed by hubby at the airport and then at home by these gorgeous flowers.  PS I'm not a huge rose lover...I love colorful bouquets and hubby knows it. He's a keeper.

The rest of February, I spent working on my new book.  It will be a novella that is part of a series called The Happy Endings Resort Series and will be a collection of novellas that features a different author each month releasing a book that relates to the resort somehow.  Some will be residents, some will be passers by.  Many will have some of the same side characters.

My character is a soldier.  A very sexy soldier.  He's at the resort staying at his Army buddies cabin while he figures out what to do next.  I'm not giving away any details because, well, I want you to read it without any ideas about what it's about.  It's a novella...it's not long enough to give you clues! I'm sorry...not really.  I will say that I have an uber sexy cover model to grace the cover.  Have you all met Justin Keeton?  If not, you need to click on his name and head on over to his page.  Go ahead, do it.  Like his page, too, while you're at it.   He's a great guy and you'll enjoy following him on Facebook.

Well, I think I've summed up everything up.  Don't forget to click on all those fabulous links and like everyone's pages!!  Next month, I'll be in Los Angeles for the Authors Under the Lights book signing.  You should join us! Click on the link for more information.

Please don't forget to check out The Lexi Series today!!
